Helping improve quality of life for men and women with any type of cancer.

Cancer Rehab

The team has a passion for supporting cancer survivors and sufferers on their journey through physical rehabilitation. They are trained and certified Physios in PINC & STEEL cancer rehabilitation, and lymphoedema therapy, and are proud to be the sole clinic in the region to offer these specialised services in one place to women and men diagnosed with cancer. Cancer rehab is very close to our hearts; it’s not enough to simply survive, we want clients to thrive in their recovery.

Our services offer patients the chance, together with their friends and family, to take positive steps in managing their own recovery. These services are individualised, and modified to suit each patient, whether it’s from initial diagnosis, treatment (chemo, radio, surgery) is still ongoing, or it’s years down the line.

With the prevalence of cancer rising and recent statistics confirming just one in two of us will experience the effect of cancer first hand in our lifetime, it’s not all bad news. The disease itself and associated treatments (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy etc) can be gruelling, but the survival rates are increasing and there’s growing evidence behind the benefits of cancer rehabilitation and how it can improve quality of life, the rates of recurrence, and life expectancy after cancer, especially when delivered by -and with- specially trained therapists, like our Physios.

We work closely with local specialists, liaison nurses, the Cancer Society, Support Groups and other health professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for every individual suffering with, or recovering from, cancer.

Our services are available for men and women, and for every type of cancer and at every stage, from diagnosis to palliative. No referral is necessary, and if you do wish to apply for funded sessions, you can do so through PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Trust.

Cancer Rehab Classes

Every cancer sufferer is individual, and where some may benefit from 1:1 sessions with a specialist Oncology Physiotherapist, others may prefer to explore returning to exercise and activity at a higher level.

Next Steps and Paddle On are both funded exercise programmes appropriate for men and women who have finished their cancer treatments and are ready to progress their physical activity. Taught by our Cancer Physiotherapists, these programmes are run in small groups and focus on progressive strengthening and fitness regimes in a dynamic and fun environment.

You can register your interest for these programmes through the PINC & STEEL website link below.
